They say big things come in small packages and Sikkim is one beautiful state and the second smallest in India. This landlocked heaven also shares some International border with China which makes it an area which requires a permit to explore some of its places. It is the home to the Mt. Kanchenjunga.

1. Khecheopalri Lake
Located at around 147 km from Gangtok is the famous Khecheopalri Lake, which is supposed to be related to the holy Buddhist monk Guru Padmasambhava. Khecheopalri is situated the west of Sikkim and everything around it is pleasantly wonderful. The sight of the lake becomes magical during the month of April when the shadow of the surroundings falls on the water.
The capital of Sikkim, Gangtok is the first choice that travelers start their journey with. Situated in Ravangla, Buddha Park is an excellent masterpiece and one of the best statues of Lord Buddha in the Eastern Indian region. 4. Bakthang Waterfall
Situated in North Sikkim, en route to Tashi Viewpoint is the most amazing and marvelous Bakthang Waterfall that is around 3 kilometres away from the capital of Gangtok. Its source of water is the Ratey Chu river and it is a great waterfall to stop by and have an amazing time in its lovely ambiance. It is a great place to be in Sikkim especially when you have arranged your vacation as an escape from Summer.
5. Yumthang Valley
The most beautiful area of Sikkim would have to be Yumthang which is also referred to as the Valley of Flowers. It has the most exciting balance of Flora and Fauna along with beautiful surroundings that lits up with the different colors of the flowers that bloom here. You will also find here hot springs, rivers, valleys and even yaks that stroll the breathtaking meadows here.
6. Nathula Pass
One of the highest altitude points of Sikkim, Nathula Pass is a great tourist place and also an Indo Chinese border. Passes to visit the border is only allowed to the Indian Nationals due to many security reasons. This elevated are is mostly covered in snow and requires permits which have to be created before your visit. It is great summer escape that you can take during your Sikkim tour.

The first airport in Sikkim, Pakyong Airport, started in 2018, increasing connectivity to the vibrant state, a much-loved travel spot for Indians and global travellers. Siliguri is more or less the main gateway to Sikkim. National Highway 31A connects Gangtok to Siliguri. Sikkim does not have a proper train network. The nearest major railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP) which is about 6-7kms from Siliguri and 130 km from Gangtok. Very few selective trains pass through Siliguri, which is approximately 114 km from Gangtok. Onward journey from Siliguri or New Jalpaiguri railway station is possible by road.
