Dooars is a real life Safari which always manages to surround you with thrilling adventure. Dooars comprises of several towns and districts in this region including Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, Siliguri etc. Also known as the Gateway to Bhutan, Dooars is blessed with Greenery and untouched Forest, which have been conserved in their natural form. Starting from river Teesta in the East to river Sankoshi in the west, Dooars is a local name given to the floodplains of North-East India around Bhutan. It is the beautiful Gateway you wouldn't want to cross.

1. Bindu

It is a scenic heaven that lies on the foothills of the surrounding valleys. It is located around 1 and half hr away from Murti and there is also a dam here which is built over the Jaldhaka River. The scenic location is among the most beautiful places with a beautiful backdrop and rich nature all around. It is also a great place for the Weekend drives or a pleasant time with yourself.

2. Murti

It is a picturesque tourist spot located on the banks of the Murti River in the Dooars region of Northern Bengal. Spending few tranquil days beside the knee deep snaking Murti River is a perfect break especially for those who are looking for some serenity and peace. Murti is a great place for nature lovers and bird watchers. You can also take a dip in the crystal clear waters of Murti River or do some fishing whenever you like. Camping is the most popular activity in Murti.

3. Jayanti

It is a small forest village within Buxa Tiger Reserve in Alipurduar district of West Bengal, India. It is located along the Jayanti River, forming a natural border with the Bhutan hills. It is popular with hikers for its beautiful views of the surrounding landscape and wild fountains. It is really a palce you cannot afford to miss.

4. Chilapata Forest

It is a dense forest close to Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary in Dooars, West Bengal. It is nearly 22 km from Alipurduar and just a few minutes away from Hasimara town. This forest is used by the Elephants as a corridor to migrate between Jaldapara and the Buxa Tiger Reserve and ultimately to Bhutan. Nature here is rich with wildlife and various types of flora and fauna. Angling, Birding, Safari are the few options. The forest used to be home to large Rhinoceros populations.

5. The Buxa Fort

It is one of the prime attractions of Buxa Tiger Reserve. It is located on a hilltop about 30 km from Alipurduar town. The fort area is famous for the ruins of the Detention Camp used by the British Government for detaining freedom fighters of our country, located at an altitude of 2600 ft above sea level the Buxa Duar is a popular hiking destination.
